Gill Lightfoot ~ Costume Maker

I am based in West Yorkshire, England, my qualifications include HND Fashion Design, Btec Surface Pattern Design and B.A.Hons in Art & Design (Textiles & Photography).

I have been working in the costume making business for over 30 years, for Theatre, Television and Dance, making costumes for Dance Companies such as Phoenix Dance, Dance Ensemble in Scotland, Northern Ballet Theatre (costume and textile props) in productions such as Wuthering Heights, Great Expectations and Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde etc.

I have worked at West Yorkshire Playhouse full time and freelance for many years. I have also worked freelance for many other Theatres in the North of England.

Some of my recent work has been for the Hatrick Productions ‘Bodies' series 1 and 2, making costume and textile props; as well as promotional outfits for Cussons-Imperial Leather.

I have a fully equipped workshop with industrial and domestic machines and a workforce of 4 very experienced seamstresses who are able to produce costume and textile type props to most specifications.
